Some Moon signs keep catching my attention when I look at LGBTQ+ birth charts. For men, Libra Moon is one of the placements I notice surprisingly often, while in women, Aquarius Moon stands out the most. Gemini Moon deserves a mention too, especially when other air or Uranian influences repeat elsewhere in the chart.
Of course, one Moon placement cannot determine anyone’s sexuality. I would look for repetition instead: an air Moon in the 11th house, Moon-Uranus aspects, Aquarius placements, or connections between the Moon, Venus, Mars, and Uranus can make the pattern much more interesting.
Libra Moon in Men
Libra Moon is one of the first placements I notice in gay and bisexual men’s charts.
Libra is ruled by Venus, while the Moon itself is receptive, emotional, and traditionally feminine. Put the Moon in Venus-ruled Libra and you can get a man who has a much more natural relationship with qualities traditionally labeled feminine.
There can be strong aesthetic awareness, appreciation of male beauty, sensitivity to appearance, or an easy ability to move between masculine and feminine social spaces.
Aquarius Moon in Women
For women, Aquarius Moon is probably my number-one Moon placement to watch.
Aquarius has very little interest in following a script simply because society handed it one. With the Moon here, that independence can extend to femininity, relationships, family expectations, and the way a woman experiences her own emotional identity.
I have noticed Aquarius Moon surprisingly often among lesbian and bisexual women. The woman may express femininity entirely on her own terms, feel comfortable with androgyny, or have little interest in conventional ideas about how a woman is supposed to date, marry, or build a family.
Moon-Uranus Aspects
A Moon-Uranus conjunction, square, or opposition immediately gets my attention too.
Uranus breaks patterns. The Moon describes emotional instincts, early conditioning, femininity, family, and what feels personally familiar.
Put them together and you can get someone whose emotional life develops outside conventional expectations. The conjunction can be especially obvious because Uranus becomes fused with the Moon rather than operating as a separate influence.
Again, sexuality is only one possible expression. Moon-Uranus can manifest through an unusual childhood, emotional independence, unconventional family arrangements, frequent changes, or simply needing enormous freedom.
Air Moon in the 11th House
An air Moon in the 11th house, especially Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius, is another combination I find interesting.
The 11th house naturally carries themes of friends, groups, communities, and finding your people. With an air Moon here, emotional belonging may come through communities outside the person’s family or original environment.
Aquarius Moon in the 11th is especially striking because the symbolism repeats. Libra Moon here can connect emotional life with relationships formed through social circles, while Gemini adds curiosity and flexibility.
Add Uranus or Venus aspects and I would pay even closer attention.
Other Moon Placements I Watch
Gemini Moon deserves a mention because Mercury is traditionally considered a neutral or androgynous planet. Gemini introduces duality, curiosity, and flexibility, so it often comes up in conversations about bisexuality or fluid attraction.
I would also notice a Moon tightly conjunct Venus, Mars, Uranus, Sappho, or Black Moon Lilith, especially with an orb of around 1° or less. Repetition makes the symbolism much more interesting.
A Libra Moon alone tells me very little. But Libra Moon in the 11th, opposite Uranus, with Venus conjunct Sappho? Now I am paying attention.
The Gayest Moon Signs, From My Observations
If you made me choose, my picks would be Libra Moon for gay or bisexual men and Aquarius Moon for lesbian or bisexual women, with Gemini Moon earning an honorable mention.
Still, I would always check the whole chart. Sexuality is far too complex to reduce to one Moon sign, and sometimes the much stronger signature sits in Venus, Mars, Uranus, the relationship houses, or their rulers.
