Poetry Hour: Venus and Mars

On August 20th 2010 Venus and Mars come into exact conjunction in Libra.  This aspect will be repeated on October 3rd (in Scorpio) and 23rd May 2011 (in Taurus).

We're therefore in for a nice little run of cupids arrow being unleashed.  Libra is perhaps the perfect placement for this first conjunction - the sign of love and relationships, of mirrors, of reconciliation, of negotiation.  Of course, this is further strengthened by Saturn's currently exalted position also in that sign.  If your life has been such that relationships have taken a pounding then this might be the perfect moment to spruce them back up.  Alternatively, if that isn't an option, creativity of all kinds is well starred.  Here's a little poem I wrote some time ago about Venus.  Seems appropriate.

The Perfume of Venus

Eau; the scent of blossomed jasmine
Fresh, watered, coloured pink and green
Pearl hidden deep undertones as I lean to kiss

And as I hold
Rainbow of multi-coloured sense
Bridges I and thee
Brought by the perfumed rain that fell between

And If I should feel more soft, I should melt
And be no more, but in your grace
Sweet Venus, blossoming free
Apple upon my palm
Ripening with me.
