Venus in Leo

Venus moves into Leo on 14th June 2010 at 08:49 Universal Time.  The movement from Cancer to Leo is a shift from the first sector of the zodiac - that place that is personal, self interested, childish perhaps to a place where the self wants to engage in a wider context.  Venus in Leo then, is an expressive Venus - she shakes off the shackles from Cancer, the self protective, nurturing, the place of comfort and security and wants to go 'Hello!! look at me!!' - It is a shift to emergence.

Venus in Leo is the position of the 'glamour puss'.  Leo is ruled by the Sun of course, and here Venus wants to dress up, party, let her hair down and have fun - all in the name of feeling free, to feel the coarse of life run through her veins - true, it can be slightly egocentric but what is really happening here is the sheer joy of freedom - you know the kind of joys I'm referring to - when you've been restricted for a long time and then suddenly it gets lifted - there's a sudden rush of blood and you feel like shouting Yes!!  This is the shift from Cancer to Leo, and this is what Venus is experiencing right now.

Leo is the sign of self-expression - what we put out to others, and here Venus is the kind of lady that will dress up - expensive taste, jewellery - Venus in Leo wants to be the belle of the ball and shine for all to see - it is quite overt and not exactly subtle - she wants to smack you in the face with her style and bling!  We have a mixture here of a very male archetype (the Sun) and a very female one in Venus - this is therefore a very passionate and 'hot' place for Venus to reside.

So, what else can we expect from Venus in Leo?  Well, the dominion of Leo crosses into our hobbies - that which we do to enjoy ourselves and play - expressing our uniqueness - Venus in Leo can show a period where we enjoy ourselves and have fun - The Sun/Venus is a powerful combination to express our sense of worth and value - to find that lost treasure within ourselves once again.  There is a love of quality here - this perhaps can surface as enjoying 'the good life' and spending our hard earned cash on it too!

As she enters the sign this week she makes a nice trine aspect to Jupiter and Uranus in Aries - this is quite a good week for letting our hair down, expressing our uniqueness and having fun.  Enjoy!!
