Poetry Hour: Moon Square Pluto

It's time for some more Poetry on this blog.  The theme of this one is around Pluto and the Moon.  This is an extremely powerful combination.  Pluto - the planet of transformation, death and sex with its inflection of Scorpionic overtones ensures that whatever it touches has an extremely intense, deeply personal edge - Pluto embodies the mysterious and the very primal inner urges that are often subconscious but then arise in times of conflict or crises - sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad.

When it contacts the Moon by Square, Opposition or Conjunction then we see someone who has very intense emotions.  Erotica may be a big factor in their lives and viewed perhaps as the only way they can express such intensity and 'lustful urgency'.  Power and dominance will certainly be a theme too, there is less of an inclination to be submissive here generally, but with two planets that speak heavily of 'the inner landscape' that cannot be guaranteed.  On a more positive level the intensity of instinct and emotion can show the individual as someone who is capable of digging deep, ferreting out truth - a psychoanalyst, someone who is able to plunge into the depths of spirituality and transform themselves and others.

If the combination of Pluto coming to your natal Moon happens by transit then you will have a period of a few years where these types of themes and emotions will rise in you at certain points during that period.  Perhaps an intense experience with partners, profound changes in the home or with your mother.  They will most certainly be life changing periods - and if you have this position in your natal chart, well, as you can see - you walk with this force inside you and have to find avenues to express it positively in your life - lest it rears its ugly head in disguises that you would not like.  Here is a poem I wrote about it.  Enjoy.

Feeding in the dark
A place I always return to...long for
And yet despise
Long dark fingers rise from unknown places
Wrapping my love, cling and dig in
Incessant, wanting, lustful

My gaze upon the reflected light
Stares
Through fear of the invisible
To see the no more, and be lost forever

A black leather belt
With holes to peep, and so poke
And so squeeze in, lustful and urgent
Forced black upon silver shard
And tighten...

Fear of loss, stands me tall
And I cling, like babe to mother
Mouth agape

This long dark drape makes swish
Over perfect sphere
Confounds its shape
Yet I appreciate it more
For the unseen perfect chunk
Like an actor who appreciates a face
That wears a mask

In such mysterious dark
I love the light more
I want what is not there
Not that is
But that which will be
Eventually.

The picture may be a familiar one to readers - I used it on my Venus in Scorpio post 'The Forbidden Fruit' last year - this position is somewhat similar in style to Pluto and the Moon.
