The point of what has been before and what is to come is very important with this lunation. The Full Moon chart shows Uranus in Pisces at 29 degrees and 59 minutes - astronomically one second from its ingress into Aries - in a matter of hours a new seven year cycle begins for Uranus and a new cycle of the natural zodiac (Aries being the first sign). This Full Moon therefore, despite not having a dirge of major aspects to the Sun and Moon, does have some interesting significators and minor aspects and triggers Uranus into Aries in fashionable luminary style!
The Sabian Symbol for the Moon reads 'Cupid knocking at the door of a human heart' and the Sun reads 'An old fashioned well with the purest and coldest of waters'. The symbolism speaks of letting go, drawing from a deep well of emotion and allowing the new (cupids arrow) to pierce and transform you. The dispositor of the Moon, Jupiter, is in Pisces conjunct an almost ingressed Uranus with the symbol 'Light breaking into many colours as it passes through a prism'. The New Moon in Taurus two weeks previous was essentially one of trying on a new set of clothes - new prisms of light emerging producing a rich new hue; different shapes in the mirror to consider. With this Full Moon we are looking into this mirror to develop a personal and philosophical understanding of the new shapes, by discrimination and by the reflections meaning to us at a deeper level. With Jupiter facing off with Saturn now, this may not be proving easy.
So, what else is there? Well, the Moon separates from a Quincunx with Venus in Cancer whose symbol reads 'A large diamond in the first stages of the cutting process'. We are feeling the personal and collective shape of being moulded in a new fashion and having to adjust - Cancer may evoke protectionism and criticism of perceived flaws - the lesson here perhaps is 'you wouldn't polish a turd would you?' Venus herself also approaches to conjunct the South Node which reads 'A hand, which is held out receptively, is remarkable for the suggestion of character in its prominent thumb' and in so doing opposes the North Node 'A fire worshipper meditates on the ultimate realities of existence' - feeling our ground, honouring and accepting the past and its role in our new futures. The Moon also separates from a trine with Uranus (we have already emotionally stepped into new territory) and Squares Chiron (it has invoked pain and isolation). Again, the aspects speak of finding new clothes difficult to wear - in fact, the Sun is also separating from a Square to Chiron (making a Sun/Moon/Chiron T-Square). This 'pain' is what we are fully aware of at this Full Moon as the Sun wakens the Moon in the sky and lights a travellers way.
The dispositor of the Sun, Mercury, is at 12 degrees Taurus reading 'A young couple walks down the main street, window shopping'. This suggests a path which is out of reach, looking but not touching and also brings finance into the equation - the 'cost' whether physical or metaphoric of commitment and involvement in walking into that shop as reflected by the symbol - is it too high a price? Have we already paid dearly and don't wish to again? Mercury's applying Sesqui-Square to Saturn and Semi-Square to Jupiter is trying to trip over these practicalities, assess the walls and mountains to climb - the cautious approach before the big leap. With Uranus looming though, this leap is not so much coming, as on our doorstep and about to enter whether invited or not!
Here are two poems I wrote today which you may wish to reflect on during these Cardinal Grand Cross times....
He Holds My Pen by Tony Vowles
I am always surprised
By the strength and power
Of these words
This is what is meant by
'You're always learning'
'You arrive at the beginning'
For he holds my pen
And my vessel merely allows it
His reach is broad
And is always new.
The Right Way by Tony Vowles
What is right?
What is wrong?
The way does not discriminate
But is the right way
When you ask
Am I doing the right thing?
Consider there is only one way
And all paths lead there
Eventually.
