Poetry Hour: On Scorpio

I am very pleased to showcase some lovely poetry by my friend Athena Marie Rink.  Athena describes herself as a new age, belly dancing, erotica writing, massage therapist, wanna-be hippie, tantrika with gothic leanings!

She authors the excellent poetry blog Finding Athena which has been listed in the top 40 poetry blogs on the internet.  Astrologically, Athena has a Scorpio Sun - this poem on Scorpio is beautifully written and perfectly describes the depth, power and passion of that sign.  Enjoy!

Dark Scorpio, ruler of night,
Obsession and passion in black and white.
Mysteries of life reflected in eyes
That search the soul for reasons and whys.

Dark Pluto, mystical sphere,
Ruler of death, embracer of fear.
Transformation and sex delicately combine,
Uncharted depths consume and define.

Private and secretive, suspicious too,
(For if she has such secrets so must you.)
Desire and longing possessing her soul,
Growing through pain towards the ultimate goal.

She is as deep as the infinite sea,
With waves of emotion flowing fast and free.
Ruled by the heart and not by the head,
Laying down more than her body in bed.

Though silence may accompany rage,
Never assume she's turned the page.
She never forgets and she strikes unseen
With deadly venom through a smile serene.

Dark Scorpio, ruler of night,
Seeking and searching to embrace the light.
The path she travels is intense and deep
And the lessons she learns she always will keep.

Dark Pluto, mysterious sphere,
Shrouded and distant its composition unclear,
Ruler of Scorpio, ruler of death,
Who first must die to take her next breath.

Read this a couple of times. Really evocative language used to set the dark mood. Wonderful rhythm.

Loved:

"Laying down more than her body in bed."

I can totally get behind that line. Bed is so much better when you open more than just your legs.
