Full Moon in Scorpio

"The newspaper reader says: this party will ruin itself if it continues to make errors like this.  My higher politics says: a party which makes errors like this is already finished - it is no longer secure in its own instincts"
Friedrich Nietzsche

We have a Full Moon in Scorpio on 28th April 2010 at 13:18 Universal Time.  Scorpio is a sign of intensity, depth of feeling and strength.  As the eighth sign of the zodiac it tips fair Libra's finely tuned and balanced scales - dragging energy inward to the deep and dark depths of the psyche - loss of self occurs here with the gift that we rise again, in spite of ourselves - our spirit lives on.  This is perhaps perfectly reflected in Scorpio's two planetary rulers - Mars, the warrior and Pluto, great transformer, keep of the deep and Phoenix rising from the ashes.

We might therefore expect a Full Moon, a time of exposure, high energy, culmination and feeling, in the sign of Scorpio to be quite intense.  This Full Moon certainly gives us that - and in spades.

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon reads "A dentist hard at work".  Rather an ironic symbol considering my last post on Saturn Conjunct Pluto.  The symbol for the Sun reads "A xmas tree decorated, shines in the darkness".  There is a suggestion here of intensity, digging deep, extraction and fixing things through some sort of social construct - a party, family gathering or meeting friends through a social scene.  Retrograde Mercury in Taurus is near exact conjunct the Sun also, shining light on the Moon and on our communication methods.

Venus is currently in mutual reception with Mercury adding weight to the communication theme and her symbol reads "A radical magazine or publication, asking for action, displays a sensational front page".  We may see some exposure in the news perhaps - a scandal maybe.  The third and final UK televised election debates this week may prove 'hotter' and more volatile than the previous two as the candidates battle for survival (a Scorpionic theme).  On a personal level it could point towards sifting through fine details, with others in the murky depth of some communication struggle - think lawyer, tax man etc.

As if that wasn't enough we have Mars in Leo in a challenging Square aspect to the Sun, Moon and Mercury.  The Sabian Symbol for Mars reads "An evening garden party of adults".  Again, we see a social and public theme - an event where fun, bonding and togetherness is necessary but where correctness and manners are required and struggled with - we want to let loose, expose, but we can't.  In fact, a Full Moon is rather like a party - there is a glare, an obvious awareness, everyone is seen and exposed in their costume and as the evening wears on - the masks slip on an inner and outer level.

This Full Moon may feel like that - intense, conflicting and sharp carrying a message of breaking down barriers and exposing masks.  Perhaps shining our true inner value and state or being overshadowed by others.  It is a few days to be careful how you go - heated words, arguments and emotions could expose a Pandora's box - a powder keg.

If Pandora's box gets opened for you then consider it like being in the dentists chair; sometimes you just have to lie there and take it - you're better off without that tooth even if the mess is unpleasant.  Allow the flames and flickers of change to transform and inform you.  Best Wishes.

The collective energy is shifting towards significant change - read more about this Cardinal Grand Cross (as it has been referred to) here.

hehe - indeed Ellen! David Cameron also slipped up yesterday - although not quite as spectacularly as Gordon. I've just found out that the asteroid Pandora was conjunct Sun and Mercury too - spooooky!
