Venus enters the sign of Taurus on 31st March at 18:34 Universal Time. The image of Venus in Taurus is of a rose coming into bloom - a natural unfolding of fertility and beauty - tempting with subtle shades that hint of buried treasure. This is the quintessential English rose, glorious and demure in her skin.
Venus rules the sign of Taurus and perhaps enjoys this position slightly more than her other zodiac ruler, Libra. In Taurus, Venus revels in sensory earthy pleasure - her indulgence more natural, easily felt and experienced. This can surface in a love of food, art, nature and the physical body. Whilst Venus is here indulging in anything of that nature is well starred.
The movement of Venus marks the beginning of a gradual shift from Aries to Taurus. She will be joined by Mercury on 2nd April and the Sun on 20th April. This new cycle marks a period of consolidation - the bud sprouts with Aries energy and Taurus kicks in to stabilise and nurture growth.
If, in the past few weeks we've begun a new process then now is the time to provide it with some fertile earth - start to consider physical wellbeing, home and finances. This is also a time to firm up our own value proposition - where do I stand? What do I believe in? Taurus is a fixed sign and symbolises our core values - without a particular standpoint or ethical code we cannot claim our own space. We would be forever following someone else's or blowing around in the wind. This of course can lead to the head coming off that beautiful sprouting bud. Venus in Taurus takes the vision and spirit of Aries and makes something real with it - something of real value and worth.
Cautions to look out for at this time include an attitude of 'what's mine is mine' - a disinclination to appreciate the values of others and over enjoying the fruits of labour rather than the actual labour, which surfaces as laziness and overindulgence. Venus in Taurus asks you to place your hands in the soil and nurture fertility, growth and prosperity.
I'll end this post with the lyrics from Paul Wellers English Rose - such a beautiful song:
No matter where I roam
I will come back to my english rose
For no bonds can ever tempt me from she
I've sailed the seven seas,
Flown the whole blue sky.
But I've returned with haste to where my
Love does lie.
No matter where I go I will come back to my english rose
For nothing can ever tempt me from she.
I've searched the secret mists -
I've climbed the highest peaks
Caught the wild wind home to hear her soft voice speak
To hear her soft voice speak
No matter where I roam
I will return to my english rose
For no bonds can ever keep me from she.
I've been to ancient worlds
I've scoured the whole universe
And caught the first train home
To be at her side.
No matter where I roam
I will return to my english rose
For no bonds can ever keep me from she
I will come back to my english rose
For no bonds can ever tempt me from she
I've sailed the seven seas,
Flown the whole blue sky.
But I've returned with haste to where my
Love does lie.
No matter where I go I will come back to my english rose
For nothing can ever tempt me from she.
I've searched the secret mists -
I've climbed the highest peaks
Caught the wild wind home to hear her soft voice speak
To hear her soft voice speak
No matter where I roam
I will return to my english rose
For no bonds can ever keep me from she.
I've been to ancient worlds
I've scoured the whole universe
And caught the first train home
To be at her side.
No matter where I roam
I will return to my english rose
For no bonds can ever keep me from she
