This heralds yet another shift away from the intensity of Scorpio. The energy of Sagittarius is bold, large and optimistic - ruled by Jupiter it expands everything it touches, yearns to a brighter and better future and vehemently gallops to his vision, his quest - pointing his arrow of intent. It is an athletic sign - in the sense that movement is paramount and it doesn't mind shifting gears either - it possesses warmth, generosity and flexibility.
The fact that the image of Sagittarius is of a centaur (half man half beast) is a curious one until you look at the sign preceding - Scorpio. Sagittarius carries the Scorpio shadow with him. He understands the deep and dark places;his physical form is a representation of it and uses this immense power through developed wisdom - the wisdom of the sage, embodying truth, knowledge and philosophy. The 'upward mobility' of this sign can sometimes lead to a fall and Sagittarius will generally not enjoy this fall from grace back into the shadow - the cornucopian illusion broken. He can go a long way up and a long way down.
This change of energy is a positive one however and should be utilised as such. We have seen recent challenge from the Saturn/Pluto square and the Saturn/Uranus opposition. This shift of emphasis might help us reach for the dream promised by the Jupiter/Chiron/Neptune conjunction - if we dare to reach and 'catch the rainbow'.
I'll leave this post with some lyrics from the song 'Catch the Rainbow' by...Rainbow:
We believed we'd catch the Rainbow
Ride the wind to the Sun
Sail away on ships of wonder
But life's not a wheel
With chains made of steel
So bless me come the dawn
Come the dawn
