This weekend sees yet more Libra activity with a New Moon on Sunday 18th October at 06:33 BST. The start of the lunar cycle then embodies that quality of newness, fresh starts, new perspectives, beginning anew - it is rhythmical and cyclical just like the changing seasons.
The Libra shift coincides with Autumn upon us in the northern hemisphere - the balance of night and day and the balance between self and others. Of course, this high wire act doesn't come without its ups and downs - we've recently seen the need for diplomacy, possibly through challenge and transformation and intensity brought to the Venus/Libra table. But just as the Moon phases and the seasons change this is all part of the rich tapestry of life beautifully illustrated by the golden glow of the Autumn leaf.
The sabian symbol for this New Moon is rather eloquently 'The sight of an autumn leaf brings to a pilgrim the sudden revelation of the mystery of life and death'. This further emphasis the cyclical nature of change. It also speaks of the insight we can gain from paying attention to the smallest things and conversely how we can miss the wonderment of nature by not appreciating its reach.
The Sun/Moon combination makes a trine aspect to Neptune and Chiron at this time. This new moon then is perfect for healing relationship, romance, compassion, creativity and nature - bask in the glow of the beautiful autumn leaf :-)
