Saturn/Uranus Opposition

This wouldn't be an Astrology blog without reference to probably the most major line up of planets that we're likely to ever experience in our lifetimes.

The planets Saturn (currently in Virgo) and Uranus (currently in Pisces) are in opposition. It first became exact on November 4th 2008 - it becomes exact again on February 5th 2009 and on three other occassions until late 2010. When two outer planets like this come together global shifts normally occur - they tend to herald society shifts. The themes for these two are : Saturn (establishment, structures, boundaries, conservative) and Uranus (the new, original, insight, technology, humanitarian, social causes and issues). The opposition aspect denotes a kind of toing and froing between these themes both globally and in our own personal lives. Interestingly the first oppostion in November 2008 was the day of Barrack Obama's inauguration...

What else is there? Well, there's much more - Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune are heating up to form a conjunction aspect in the spring/summer in Aquarius. Then later in the year Saturn comes into square aspect to Pluto. Themes? Burgoning spiritual conciousness, global conciousness, healing and transformation. With such an emphasis on Aquarius there will be a surge to move into new areas, new ways of living, new structures (or rather breaking up the old structures).
