Facebook, Terms of Use and Astrology

Has anyone been following the recent news with Facebook and its difficulties when it outlined changes in its terms of use? I have with much interest - not because I generally enjoy Facebook but also because of the massive growth the company has had and this story in particular because of its wider context with the use of social networking and privacy/security matters.

So...I thought I'd delve into Facebooks Astrological chart to see what was going on there. The company was formed on February 4th 2004. No time known so I'll just use the date which should be good enough. Here's a brief description of their birth chart astrologically followed by some possible reasons for their recent trouble!

Sun in Aquarius: An innovative, free thinking leader in the marketplace
Moon in Cancer: Sense of community is strong - feels public movement
Mercury in Capricorn: Authoritarian and reserved communication, careful and dogmatic
Mars in Taurus: Driven to build on a solid base
Venus in Pisces: Takes pleasure in following its dreams and ideals
Jupiter in Virgo: Sees itself as a service. Lots of services and lots of detail!
Saturn in Cancer: Struggles with its public dealings
Uranus in Pisces: Innovative technology growth
Neptune in Pisces: Idealistic and without boundaries
Pluto in Sagittarius: Transformation of philosophies
Chiron in Capricorn: Maverick leader - old wounds in business dealings

So..Facebook decided to alter their terms and conditions on Feb 4th 2009, which not only coincides with the company's solar return (setting up their year ahead!) but was slap bang in the middle of the Saturn/Uranus opposition - see previous posts on this but essentially this signifies 'The Old vs The New'. This opposition is also triggering some major aspects in their chart as follows:

1. It's sitting right on their Natal Jupiter (challenged to grow)
2. Transiting Saturn AND Transiting Uranus are both Square their Natal Pluto - hmmmm, this is setting up a T-Square with its Pluto In Capricorn at the apex - they are being challenged to transform the business and its established boundaries (Pluto In Capricorn) but are stuck in the push/pull of the Saturn/Uranus opposition.

I have to admit I do feel some sympathy for them - as they say themselves a lot of this is uncharted territory and considering that they have a huge following we are looking to them to pave the way in terms of exactly how we expand and share at the same time as keeping privacy and security. Not an easy task. They have misjudged their users here though - their rather authoritarian stance has backfired - forcing them to back down and rethink. I suspect this story will go on...
