So....the new year is almost upon us - goodbye 2008 and hello 2009. This has been a year of transition and upheaval for many people and I expect many are glad to see the back of it. I take the view that these periods in our lives, although stressful and challenging will provide us with what I call 'growth points' - rather like ice that's gradually melting - this year has provided chunks that suddenly fall and shake things up. It's only when we look back and reflect that we see that some unpleasant events were necessary in order for change and growth to occur.
This years new years eve co-incides with Saturn stationing to go retrograde in Virgo which will make the evening poignant for some. It's a good time to begin to make plans - in our heads, but especially on paper - making lists, organising our habits and routines and practical life - maybe our work or career. Laying the foundations for the future and for 2009. This might not necessarily make for the most perfect time to begin the process of change but it is the time to start laying the foundations.....so, get your new year resolutions at the ready!
The Beginning....
Welcome to the random musings of a part time amateur astrologer, IT Manager and eLearning convert! This is the beginning of a new journey for me - in many ways. With regards to my work we are moving into the 21st century - professional training from Niace (National Institute of Adult and Community Education) and CEL (Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning - who are now called LSIS!!!) have enabled us to transform and inform our college strategic plans and directions with regards to the effective use of technology.
On the subject of change....Pluto moved signs finally from Sagittarius into Capricorn in November after some tooing and froing. This is an enormous event astrologically - the planet....or planetoid or whatever it is called today(!) moves maybe 1 or 2 signs in our lifetime. As it's an outer planet it will transform society - as it's in our charts also it will transform our own lives in some way. Is anyone feeling this? I know I am - major changes have finally occurred...this is how a shift like this happens - you probably knew it was coming for some time and now it's here! Pluto in Capricorn deals with transformation in structure essentially - the credit crunch and global financial crisis are all victims - as are institutions, establishments.
By the way, if anyone is wondering what on earth I'm doing writing this on Christmas day - well...I'm just waiting for my duck to cook!
